Agreement to Terms

By downloading and using alto.index for macOS, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

Eligibility Restrictions

You cannot use alto.index if you reside and pay taxes in the State Sponsors of Terrorism. This includes Russian Federation, Belarus, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria.

You cannot use alto.index if you reside in the states supporting or ignoring the war in Ukraine. In addition to the states listed above, this list also includes Serbia, Bolivia, and Nicaragua.

License

alto.index grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the software on any Mac that you own or control. The license is for personal, non-commercial use only.

Description of Service

alto.index is a macOS application that exports data from Apple's native apps (Notes, Mail, Messages, Safari, Contacts, Reminders, Calendar) to markdown files on your local computer. All processing occurs locally on your device.

User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device
• You are responsible for any data you export using alto.index
• You must not use alto.index to violate any laws or regulations
• You must not reverse engineer or modify the application

Intellectual Property

alto.index and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by alto.index and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Disclaimer of Warranties

alto.index is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, alto.index shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the application.

Data and Privacy

alto.index processes all data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to any of your personal data. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

Updates and Changes

We may update alto.index from time to time through the Mac App Store. We may also modify these Terms of Service. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

You may stop using alto.index at any time by deleting the application. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the app for violations of these terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
